Resurfacing project to begin on US-131 in Montcalm County on Sept. 2

STARTING DATE: Tuesday, Sept. 2, 2008

ESTIMATED COMPLETION DATE: Saturday, Sept. 20, 2008

PROJECT: The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) will be milling and resurfacing 3.5 miles of north and southbound US-131 from M-46 (Edgar Road) to the Montcalm/Mecosta county line.

TRAFFIC RESTRICTIONS: One lane of traffic will be maintained at all times on north and southbound US-131. There will be no lane closures on northbound US-131 from noon on Friday until 6 a.m. on Saturday. No lane closures will be in place on southbound US-131 from 7 a.m. Sunday through 7 a.m. Monday.

CUSTOMER BENEFITS: This $1 million project will extend the life of the roadway and improve the ride quality.
