A major new initiative to comprehensively address environmental pollution on the farm was unveiled in Lansing, Michigan on January 19, 1998.

The strategy balances producers' right-to-farm with the need to protect Michigan's environment.  It emphasizes proactive pollution prevention at all stages of agricultural production.
