Where can I acquire a single trip permit?
Answer:
All single trip transport permits must be applied for electronically

minimum number of permit applications per month.
The Michigan Permit Administration and Routing System Web (MIPARS)
permit application software is a web based program that can be run on
most computers using the Windows XP or Windows Vista operating system.
You may also obtain a single trip permit through a permit service.
These services submit permits electronically as described above, and
then forward them onto their customers. These services charge a fee
over and above the official cost of the permit. A list of permit

Prior MDOT management approval is required for such exceptions.

Weekend movement is now permitted in Michigan, on a trial basis, for
loads not exceeding the dimensions of 10 feet in width, 14 feet in

other bordering state’s provisions and allows weekend
movement all day on Saturday, and until 3:00 p.m. on Sunday.
Mobile/Modular homes are not eligible for weekend movement.
To electronically request weekend movement with a single trip using the
Michigan Permit and Routing System (MIPARS) application, check the
weekend movement box on the "Permittee" screen making sure to tab
through the dates allowing the weekend (Saturday and Sunday) to
appear. Enter the "requesting weekend movement" in the
comment or info box as an additional guarantee of receiving the
requested weekend dates and provision.
Extended permits that do not exceed the load limits are also eligible
for weekend movement. Include the request in writing along
