• METRO Authority Determination No. 5 Rescinded
On November 9, 2006, the MPSC overturned Determination #5 (Case No. U-14878 Sprint Communication Company L.P. petition for de novo review). On December 6, 2007, the Michigan Court of Appeal via Case No. 274879, upheld the MPSC ruling that the maintenance fee is only applicable to telcom owners. As a result, Determination No. 5 has been rescinded.

• PA130 of 2008 - Additional opt-in opportunity 
In June of 2008, the legislature enacted PA 130 amending Section 13 of PA 48. This allows those manicipalities that had taken appropriate action since 2006 to become eligible receive funding.
